Planning a Minecraft Birthday Series: Creeper Goodie Bags

Welcome to the first post in the "Planning a Minecraft Birthday Series"!

One of the very first things that I started searching for my son's birthday party was Minecraft Goodie Bags. Again, they were available online for a reasonable price, but to save the shipping and handling and time constraints, I opted to make my own.

I hit the local Dollar Tree in search of plain and simple party gift bags, with the idea in mind of just drawing a "Creeper" face in black permanent ink. Would have been easy-peasy, but I ended up coming across something cooler, and cheaper!

These babies came in packs of 3 for $1.00!
After making that purchase of 4 (they came in a pack of 3 so I ended up with a dozen total for $4.00), I headed over to Wal-Mart to buy the acrylic black paint. It was on sale, so I walked away with it for $.50!

Making the Creeper face is super easy, just Google search "Creeper Face Template", print out according to the size you are needing and cut out using a Xacto knife or razor blade. After cutting the paper template, make the same pattern onto a piece of thin cardboard and re-cut. This will ensure that you have a sturdy template.

Next, place a piece of this cardboard or thick paper inside of the goody bag, so that the paint will not bleed through the other side. Align the Creeper face template and paint away! My son was more than happy to help on this part!
And TAH-DA! You have a very awesome, inexpensive, reusable goodie bag that kiddos will LOVE.
